Email usFrequently asked questions
The extension says “WhatsApp Web is not open”.
The extension only works with a web.whatsapp.com tab. Use the “Open WhatsApp Web” button in the popup, sign in by scanning the QR code with your phone, then click the extension icon again.
Why do I see “No saved contacts found”?
If you have just signed in, WhatsApp Web may still be syncing your contacts. Wait a minute and click Refresh in the popup. If it persists, reload the WhatsApp Web tab and try again.
Which contacts are exported?
Only the contacts saved in your WhatsApp address book. Numbers that aren't saved (for example people you only share a group with) and your own number are left out. Contacts whose number can't be found are skipped, and the popup tells you how many.
How do I import the vCard file into my phone?
- Android: send the .vcf file to your phone (for example by email or Google Drive) and open it; the Contacts app offers to import it.
- iPhone: open the file from AirDrop, Mail or the Files app and confirm adding the contacts.
- Google Contacts: go to contacts.google.com, choose Import and select the .vcf file. If your phone syncs with that Google account, the contacts appear there too.
Why are the numbers stored as text in Excel?
Excel can treat long numbers as values and drop the leading + or digits. Numbers are saved as text so they stay intact; the header row is frozen and filters are on.
Does the extension read my messages?
No. It only reads the names and numbers of your saved contacts; your messages, chats and media are never read. Everything happens on your computer and nothing is sent to us. See the Privacy Policy.
